I've been up. A weekly charge of like $20 applies. $40 for the yearly, maybe $45. Everyone was still camping and stuff.
They hand you an envelope and a ticket. You seal the thing and put it in the can. Putting money in seems to be an option since they don't check.

You can call the Carson City BLM office and give them your plate numbers and CC info and they will send you an annual pass. They expire in Sept. I think so, you better be planning three trips to make it work $$$ for you. Otherwise get the one-week pass.

I can't say I have seen any enforcement to date of anything but, hopefully the signs of the rules will encourage more people to ride with flags in the dunes and watch that they don't burn wood with nails. Can't say I will miss fireworks in the camp area either. On the hill they don't bother me.

Will be interesting to see how quiet it will be from 12-6 on Memorial Day Weekend. Last year was pretty loud.

Hopefully they don't start doing any real enforcement of the roping off / reserving camping area thing. I don't think it is a problem. Not like anyone is roping off an entire section of the mountain for themselves. I think we all want an atmosphere where we can gather with our friends and others can gather with their friends. If someone gets the spot you wanted. . . suck it up and find another spot - get there earlier next time. Go find a nice area for your group, unload your **** and crack a beer. Doesn't matter if I am camped on a thorn bush as long as my friends are near and I have plenty of beer.

I think i have the record for blocking off the most amount of area for DS days last year. We had 15-20 rigs in our group and still had tons of space, hehehe.
