Raptor to big?

IM 15 yrs old 5'8 190 and ive been riding a yamaha beartracker for 3 years and want to step up to a raptor. i dont plan to go dunning, just heavy trial riding. i jump (4 1/2 feet biggest yet) beartracker cant take any more. i think i am experiened enough to ride one, i am responsable but i like to have fun. what do you think? p.s. i know how to ride cluch ok.

You cant make that judgment from age alone. You have to know the person. Different people are different. Your definately big enough, but are you mature enough and responsible enough to stay alive. BTW, for heavy trail riding, a Z400 would probably be better. Raptor would never get to stretch its legs. Neither would the Z400 but its manuverability would be a blessing. With the price difference you can buy some tires and a nice helmet.

At your age and income level(unless your rich) you might be best suited for a 400ex
the mods come cheaper and easier
trust me a bike is way better running than "Yamaha"(thats my new word for broken)

I say go for the Raptor. I do trail riding along with some non-racing motorcross. The Raptor is great for both I think. I think once you are older you'll be glad you have all that power, and the suspension is plush enough for a nice ride. As far as handling I really cant compare the two cause I have only ridden a Z400 once, on a road, but the raptors hadling is great to me..... Well good luck on ur choice.....thats just my two cents....
