Default Another jetting question for modded raptor

I have a bored out raptor to a 696 from Quad Central ll. Port and polished head. Full Yoshi pipe. My question is what jetting should I be using? I live in Utah and the elevation is around 4800 ft. I have 27.5 Pilots and started with 170 165 mains. It was running real rich. I went down to 160 155 mains still running rich. Airbox has holes cut, out KandN filter. Is there someting I am missing?????

There sure must be a difference between the 4800' that you live in and the 875' that I have, my bike would be way lean.

When you say you are rich, is it in a 3rd. gear high RPM spark plug run?? Or does it just feal rich??

I am running 25's for pilots in mine with the air box lid removed.

Are you using the air box lid? How are you determining that you are rich.

Rohnda V
It is a hig RPM run when the plug looks to be rinning lean
When ridding around I can see black smoke comming out of the pipe. I will pull the plug and it is black.

The air lid has two holes cut out 1 1/2 by 3 inch. it is running rich from all the black smoke and carbon on the end of my pipe.

With those jets I doubt you are seeing black smoke at wide open throttle, but you didn't say.
I think you might be rich on the bottom to mid range with those pilot jets.

This is what I would do:
remove the lid if you can with your filter
170/175 mains at least
25 pilots
3rd or 4th groove on the needles
2 3/4 L 3 R mix. screws

I'm not surprised it was white. I like the mikuni jets myself. I would start at the settings I mentioned before maybe a little bigger on the mains.
