Dialing In Raptor
#1
Well. This weekend was the first time I could get out to test my bike with the new mods. I have to tell you I went by everyones opinions and could not get it dialed in with the lid on. I ripped the friggin lid off put in 160/165 Mains and 27.5 Pilots. I had to take that damn tank off about ten times to adjust the air fuel mixture. Finally after all that I ended up with 3 1/8 Turns out Left and 3 3/8 out Right. When I tryed it 3 L and 3 1/4 R Too Rich, tryed 3 1/4 L and 3 1/2 R too Lean. I didn't know that little bit would make a difference. Now, when I run through full throttle I get no bogging and no popping and snapping. My plug is very very lightly tanned. Does it sound like I have It dialed in now, or what I am asking is would you know if the bike is dialed in just my riding and having no bogging or popping and snapping, just good pull from the bike. Also It is 72 degrees out, will I notice a differnce once it hits 80 or 85.
Thanks

25's were a bit poppy when blipping the throttle. I never noticed what the headpipes looked like while idling. The bike pulls well through full throttle but my plug is very lightly tanned.I am going to take a pic of it today and post it.

Your head pipes will glow a little red right at the beginning of the bend, as long as the redness is 6" or less you are in good shape. You can let it idle for a few minutes and take out the plug and see what it looks like to see how your pilots are doing.
So, when you rev it hard from idle it comes in smooth and doesn't stumble?? If your plug looks good durring idle and you don't have a stumble when hitting it hard off idle.....you should be fine. Personaly, I'm running 25's because my headpipes would glow ruby red!! I went to the 25's and "problem solved".

I am gonna do an idle plug check this weekend. I will let you know the plug color around the base and the state of the headpipe after idling. How long should I le t it idle for to get a proper reading.
