I own a 98 Sport 400 and two other ATV's.

All have 2-stroke engines, therefore, I carry up to three different types of oil. Not a big deal, but all three are stocked at different dealers making it very time-consuming to keep the up.

My question is simple. I use Power Plus 2-Stroke Oil in my Banshee. This oil is a Castor/Synthetic Blend. The label on the bottle states the oil can be used in Pre-Mix and/or Injectors.

I would like to start using the Power Plus oil in my Sport 400 and Blaster Oil Injectors. Does anyone have experience with doing this?

According to Polaris, the only 2-stroke oil to use in their ATV's is "Polaris Premium or Gold" 2-stroke oil. Can I use others?

Thanks!

My dealer said that I "should" use Polaris oil in my 400 but any injection oil with a TCW-3 rating would be ok. I went to Walmart and bought a gallon of Penzoil full synthic injector oil for 18 bucks and it works great.

I have used Pillips 66 Injex in everything. That would include a 400 Scrambler I had, plus my snowmobile, weedeater, snowblower. My brother uses it in his RM250. I think it is a great oil and it is around $2 a quart.

I have used 3 gallons of Injex in snowmobiles, weed-eaters and ATVs. At about $9.00 a gallon I love the stuff.

I am presently on my second gallon of Amsoil. $15.00 a gallon for full synthetic. I cannot tell the difference between it and the INJEX, but I think that it does smoke a little less and has less odor.

I have also used the Quaker State Synthetic from Wal-Mart at $18.00 a gallon but found the pour point to be little thick in winter weather. It also smokes more than the Amsoil or Injex.

No fouled plugs with any of these oils.

Injex is definitely the best buy. Good Luck!
