Hey everyone, well I did get help from all of you for determing the settings for the valves but I have another question for all of you, how do I determine when the piston is at top dead center? It's been a long time since Ive even looked at the internals of a motor(2 years ago when I rebuilt my odyssey motor, also thats a 2 stroke, real easy rebuild, never worked on a 4 stroke before but ther's a first time for everything) , im a little rusty so any help is appreciated thanks and any other tips I should know would also be appreciated, thanks

Tools
Torque wrench
5mm allen socket
10mm socket
19mm socket to turn engine
10mm, 17mm wrenches
The tool to turn adjuster would be nice but I use needle nose pliers
Angled feeler gauge .005" intake .007" exhaust
Big flat head screw driver to remove timing covers
Turn engine over counter clockwise when aligning the timing marks. After your intakes open then close it's about a half turn of the crank to align the marks. There are two sets of marks that look like this ( ll and l ) use the (l) mark you'll come to the (ll) marks first.
When making the adjustment I snug the lock nut just enough that I can still turn the adjuster. Then snug the nut down a little more with a wrench while holding the adjuster so it does'nt move, then torque and recheck clearance.
Hope this helps

Man I salute you guys for working on your own motors I would be scaried out of my mind to take my new Raptor motor apart for anything. Except maybe to put in a new clutch. I do change my own oil and other maintanence but I am definetly not a mechnic so going inside the motor would not be good for me. Salute to All That Work On Their Own Motors!!!!
