Raptor carb 101

Can anyone explain to me all the parts of the carb and what each one does. Like the needles and jets and mixture screw and all that. I want to get a better understanding on what everything does so I know what I am doing when I take things apart and work on them.

Why dont you just go out and buy a manual. Its alot better to take it apart and look at things then have people tell you. Bwtf why do you want to know about the carbs ? I took mine apart and I know alot about them now. Also the tube that goes from my carbs right to the valves I ported to match the engine.

Well I am testing different main jet sizes and moving the needles up and down so I just want to know what is happening when I do those things. Like is it giving more gas, flooding it more or what.

So when it boggs down when you don't give it enough gas then what do i need to do? move the clip on the needle?

Hey,
i was searching for the same info not long ago. sorry i don't have a link for ya, but if you go back a few pages in this forum, you'll see my old thread "what do each of the jets do" and it's got some good info in there.
basically:
pilot jet/ air screw - idle to 1/4 throttle
needle jet - 1/4 to 3/4 throttle
main jet - 3/4 to WOT

I have a manual. I am just trying to figure out why it is sometimes bogging down and I would just like to get a little more knowledge. Sometimes it is a lot easier to learn stuff from someone else rather than a manual. Bigmackloud, Thanks for that info. That helps me a lot.
