every thing up to 2002 should be compatible with your bike. You should be able to find a manual transfer case to fit yours. Just finding it will be the task ahead!good luck and let us now.

VewDew,

I have been looking to do the same on my 98 and I did some checking on the 300 front diff and it looks identical as far as bolt in. We did not remove the diff out of the 300 because it belonged to a dealer that just sold it but we did count revolutions on drive line and hubs and they matched my 98. So if they do have the same gearing that would be the way to go! 2X 4X and LOCK

I missed a diff that was on e-bay from a 86 suzuki because I tried to go to cheap. Could have done a Buy it now for $100.00 but I took a chance trying to go cheap and I was out bid the last minuet. For $100 I was going to take a chance that it could work on mine.

If I am thinking right the 500 came with 2x selector in 2000 but it was only available with the automatic.

VewDew,

I contacted the guy that outbid me on the front diff for a 1989 Suzuki 250 quadrunner atv and asked what he was doing with it. I noticed He was also purchasing A/C stuff so I took a chance that he mite be trying to do the same as I was. Turns out he is a mechanic and repairs snowmobiles and atvs. He did not buy the diff for an a\c BUT he has done the swap before. He stated: "You can change the diff, I have done it once. You will need the diff, shift lever and mount bracket from a 250 or 300 A/C 4X4. You
will have to change the yoke that the driveline bolts to."

That gives a better chance to find a diff since we can now add suzuki 250/300 to the list.

Just wanted to pass it on.

Thx tricat... Ill keep an eye on ebay and the wreckers here in the province. Im not going to pay for a new one. What bothers me now is that late 80s machines have this functionality and a 98 machine does not. HEH Bad Kitty.
