Clean your quad, dry it and then spray various parts down with stainless steel appliance cleaner / polish. The foaming type works good and these products are available @ the grocery and/or Home Depot. Zep also makes a quality stainless spray. It will make your engine have a satin finish and will make your fenders appear to have no more scratches. Let me know your feedback. It's probly an old trick but it's new for me. Also it's not as shiny and wet looking as the old WD-40 trick.

The appliance cleaner might harm o-rings (chain).
I like my wisk and armor-all, But I really need to try mop-n-glow

Some of the best stuff I've used is Maxima's "High Gloss SC-1 Silicone Detailer"

Plastic shines up well, the spray stuff smells good and lasts through a couple of washings. Also spraying under fenders helps mud/sand not stick as bad.

As far as I know that stainless cleaner says not to use on painted surfaces. I would be very careful around non metal parts.
