Hi I would like to know your general feelings on the Kodiak ultramatic. So far I had no problems with it and lots of fun, I prefer it more then my Wolvrine I owned before. Can't really find anything wrong with it apart that it slow. I honestly thought its speed would of been somewhere near those of the Wolverins, but its not!

I would not call 50mph slow it is just that you are used to a 60mph wolverine which is faster than most bikes even with larger motors.

I have a Kodiak that will go 51 mph,and a Honda450es that goe's 47 mph so I consider the speed of the Kodiak very good for 401cc engine.

Rogi I bought mine a month ago and took It out yesterday for the first time . It was running fine under power but when stopped to a idle It would stall. Then there is the problem of getting It into neutral. I had to rock It back and forth to get it back to obtain the neutral start position. Can someone out there offer some tips.I also noticed that It was quite loud when my son was driving through the bush.

50 mph is plenty fast for a utility quad, my Rancher tops out around 50-51mph. If you want more speed then go for a sport quad.

The BIG utility quads like the Griz & Polaris sportsman & magnum can't do 60 mph.

I'm extremely pleased with mine and I thought it was fast but I did have a 250cc before. It's smooth shifting from reverse, high, low and in and out of 4x4. The 4x4 in low range is killer in WV hills, I can creep down huge mountains without hitting any brake.

Not trying to be 'funny' but you stated getting it back to the neutral start position, you do know that it will start in any gear if the left hand break is pulled all the way in dont you?

Well, Rogi I'am wondering about the new Kodiak too!! Is it hard to change the oil filter?? Air filter?? Notice there isn't any speedo or trip. Did you add one or has anyone installed one or had the dealer do it??
