Who would buy this so called 450 Raptor in the first model year?
01 Raptor comes to mind.

Ain't no way in he!! I would take a first year model. You couldn't give me one, well maybe you could give it to me but...

I would wait until the second year. Then I'd buy one used from someone that has to give it up because they can't afford it. It amazes me when I see brand new models being sold used a couple months after they've just come out.

 

No...not happening...well maybe if they used a Honda motor

 

Yamaha REALLY screwed up with the 2001 Raptor - that really put a lot of people off on 1st year quads. Overall I would say get it if you are the type that has to have the latest and greates and get the extended warranty. If not wait a year or so to see if any problems emerge.
