Ok, 1st ebrake went bad, fixed and grounded out rev limiter, runs now but in the power band of 3/4 ot WFO it misses I dont think that it is back firing at all, I have checked air box no leaks, I have taken carbs off and cleaned no dirt, spark plug is light tan maybe a little lean so I moved down one clip on needle. I have checked the wiring for broken or shorted wires. I can think of two other possible things CDI or Coil wire(which looks good and is making good contact) So i'm thinking CDI, will these go bad? can someone please help me, I hate to take it into the shop, but I may have to. Also choke spring isn't rusted and is in good working order.

Up that high in the power it would be a main jet issue. what jets are you running??

 

Throw away the air-box lid or
I had a wire break just as it goes into the ign switch...acted like you are describing

 

I'm not sure what jet I'm using I think 140-42 something, actually now that I gave up and put it back together it's running fine. Has to be a short or something. I'll post back If I find something out.
