ok...i have a friend who has a 01 raptor....that makes a horbble sound when u rev it . when u rev it sounds like something is grinding but when it goes back down to idle it sounds fine??? and when u ride it around runs like nothing is wrong???...any ideas????

A buddy of mine had the same thing happen to his. It sounds REALLY bad, but in the end his was the aluminum skidplate.[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-shocked.gif[/img] It sounded terrible and we could never figure out where it was comming from. Finaly we put some neopreme between the skidplate and the frame and it quit the noise.

I am a PRO on that subject. LOL
Drain the carb/tank if it wasn't. CHECK the air filters for anything, you never know what you might find. Charge the battery the night before. And this might not have to be done, but I would squirt a little shot of penatrating oil in the spark plug hole.
AZSand, that same bike we spent hours on trying to find why it would all of the sudden just die. We even brought it to the shop with no luck. The hose that connects to the "T" fitting in between the carbs got kinked. It was funny when it was all over, because it took us SOOOO long to find it.
