Default The Drag-N- quad is now in intensive care....

Well guys I brought out the new machine for the big Delbarton climb. I went to get a first place finish, and done just that!!! The only thing is on the final run it hooked up after I broke the lights and done a back flip. I counted about 30 rolls comming of the hill watching the tape!! Now its back to the drawing board to get her put back together!!!

Damage is...

Swing arm
A-arms
Brake cabels
plastics
Front bumper
Grab bar
heal guard
axel
rims
tie rods
ball joints
frame bent - on front where a-arms bolt I am hopping that I can get it straightened!

Good points are...
I walked / limped away
That the engine and exhaust are "a" ok
The 1st place trophy is sitting at my house!!!!!!!
I put a time of 12.06 in on the hill and that was as fast as over half the two strokes!!!
All in all it was a fun but very expensive Saturday!

A few questions that I would like to ask about the rebuild...

I am going with the Tucker swing arm +6 What carrier do they come with? Will the Durablue axle work in it?

Will stock wheel hubs work on the durablue x33 axle?

Whats a good set of resonable a arms? would like to go +2 +1 (especially since most come with tie rods and ball joints)

If the frame is unfixable does anyone know where to get a reasonable deal on one?

I got bound up and did'nt make it. Congrats on the 1st place finish! Sounds like things could have been much worse for yourself. My last get-off.......I broke my tailbone....$3k + damage too....but my frame was straight. I guarantee you can add a steering steem too the list....and maybe the rear subframe. Go too www.ebay.com and do a search under yamaha raptor.

Sorry to hear that Raptor Man, my clutch just went out, but that is no $2000 fix, more like $400. Good Luck to you.

Dfitz,

I already have it tore down to the frame again! and waiting to get parts ordered! I am going to try to get it back together by the next climb which is in June!

Ow and FYI
Just to let you know the swing arm did not make it through 30 rolls!! It broke right on the weld! Thats what I get for telling you it would last! But to defend the work though the axle is almost an L on one side and a good bend on the other side as well!! I am going to have to cut the axle to get the carrier off.

The Tucker carrier is twin row and I'm guessing the aftermarket axles will slide right in (my stock axle did).....

Tucker Info (on Ebay)

Give him a call - he's great to work with !
