Im getting ready to do some jetting and took my spark plug out before hand to get a general idea on what its suppose to look like. I think my jetting might have been off from the factory. The first 3 threads on the plug are really black and the insulator is only tan on maybe 1/2 of it, the other 1/2 is white. This kind of stumped me, I was under the impression that anything lighter than tan on the insulator meant you were runnin lean, and if your threads were really black you were running rich. Well I have both of those on one plug. What do you guys think?

 

Don't worry about the threads. Worry about the insulator. Sounds like you are in the ballpark for jetting - maybe a tad lean.
