Default stupid question, but take a look

I was doing some thinking, and I was wondering why dont people just weld the head to the cylinder? You could run huge compression with out the thought of blowing a head gasket... Has anyone done this yet?

Makes sence to me, probably has its downfalls.

I've been using self taping sheet metal screws instead of head bolts...
