Ok guys and gals. How and the heck did you hold the clutch boss and basket. While torqueing down the nut. I have broke the inner hub once. Dont ask. Now I have broke a finger off the basket. Man I am pissed. I can't believe this is kickn my ***. I'm trying to do the job right but does anyone think that it could be welded back. It was a clean break. Or will it not hold. I have way, way, to much in this job already. It was the LAST thing I had to do. Oh damn I need a drink. Please help.

This tool works great for holding the flywheel. The smaller one works great on the oil filter.

Impact to torque it to specs? Nope. How are going to hold it by hand to torque to 65lbs. ?
Taking it off with impact no problem. I knew I should have bought the tool.
Thanks for your thoughts on welding Wash.

I'm glad I'm not the only one with problems. I had the same one, what a PIA. The way I did it, don't laugh, was stuck a BIG flat head threw the basket and put it into one of the grooves in the inner hub, or boss whatever. It worked but becarefull not to let it slip or you could probably do some damage.
I tried the hold it with a rag thing and just about cut my freakin fingers off.
Do they just make all these parts so complicated so you have to buy special tools or what?LOL

It says the tool is also good for pulling teeth. Maybe you could make some of your money back for the tool.

ridley...........
That is what I would do, just hold it tight, make sure that your compressor is fully pressured up(the air tank is full), turn the impact on 4(the highest torque setting), and Bam......Bam.............hit it a few quick times and you will be good to go, no problems at all.............
Good luck..........
