i want opinions on cams valves and valve springs for my raptor please

i have a 2001 raptor with a 2002 tranny/gytr heavy duty clutch and springs/fmf power bomb header/fmf q muffler/102 mm high compression piston/pro design air filter/modified air box lid/160- 165 mikuni mains/dura blue axle /+ 4" swingarm/ works triple rate shocks.i have listed what i am running to help anyone who will respond make an informed decision.what i would like to do is add a aftermarket cam/valves and valve springs what would some of you recommend for a brand and what kind of gains could i expect to see if i went with the cams and valves and springs.i am very pleased with the performance i get now but like a lot of you i am always looking for more power as long as it doesnt adversely affect reliability.i am willing to accept some loss in longevity in the motor as long as it is not too bad like a rebuild every two seasons or so.my thinking is that with what i have already the additions i would like to add should make quite a difference yes or no?thanks in advance for your responses

From my experience, I have had the 696/697 and the 736/737 grind web cams along with the 11.1 je piston. The 736/737 grind web cam is a good all around cam. I am currently going to a much larger profile cam because I mostly drag race now but I absolutely love that cam for trail riding and kicking around; hard to beat in my opinion as far as all around cam. I have never had any experience with the hot cams so I can't comment on there perf. but I imagine they are good cams from what I here. If you want a large cam that has got good top end; go with the sparks hi rev cam. You loose some bottom end but it never quits on top end with good mid range hit. They are high as far as price goes compared to Web and Hotcams. 250.00 Dollars for the sparks, kinda high. The perf. incease you will see from a good cam and srings is like night and day. They compliment the piston nicely. Just my 2cents. SLIM

Hey im in the same boat you are. I want to add some good all around cams for screwin around in the mud and then takin er to the dunes. All I have heard is that the performance increase is sweet and that hot cams are good!! Thats all I know

I have the hotcams stage 2 and I did notice some drop in bottom end power but as soon as you get the motor to rev it makes great power. My valvetrain does make more noise than stock at the reccomended clearances, I plan to tighten it a hair to see if it negatively effects anything. I am also running the 102mm JE 12:1 and have a ported head.

I got my piston and cam put in at the same time I got my head ported and polished..........I loved it.......until I talked to a guy at trinity and he said that the stage 2 cam did not require the other springs on the 2003'z...............they supposedly already come with them..............
If I would have known this b4 hand I wouldn't have gotten the stage one...........
oh well.....
