something broke.....help.......
#1
Went riding last weekend and bottomed out and slid up on the gas tank and my hand slid around the handgrip and push the throttle lever back toward th rear of the quad. When I got back on the quad the thumb throttle paddle, lever was pointing toward the gas tank instead of the normal postion. The throttle still works and stops at the regular spot but when you let go of the throttle it goes past the idle spot, backward. The housing was not damaged nor was the cable so why does the throttle spin backward now? Was it a spring letting loose or did something break?
I took the top off of the throttle assembly and could not see anything broke or bent so what happened?

Kinked??? It works fine with no more resistance than it had before, just now if you are going full throttle and slip your thumb off the lever it will go around and hit the stopper.
I will check the cable for any kinks.

Are you saying that there is some extra slop in the lever? If that's what your saying you might have stretched it in the wreck....Try just taking some out on the adjustment nut.
Good luck.

One of the plates inside the throttle lever box kind of bent and the shaft on the thumb lever flatened corners on the tip of it. I straightened the plate and ground the weird corners down on the shaft. Seems to be working alright now.
Shaft $35
Plate $5
order replacements from dealer today. I was alright until I heard the price of the shaft. OOOOuch!!!!!!!
