I personally like 10" all the way around. Its not too wide,not too skinny. Ive got 28-10x12 on my 700 and its much nicer to have the same size as you can rotate them to make sure they wear evenly. also, while in snow if you have an 8 or 9" tire in front it acts more like a pizza cutter and slips through the snow,but less traction in mud. if you have 11 or 12" wide tires in the rear,they tend to float on top and not grab traction in snow but good traction in mud. So i split the difference and am very satisfied as i took my atv in 14" of fresh snow up a mountain and it ripped its way up...was not a fast ride,but it went and never got stuck.
