Kymco 450i 09-02-2019 10:13 AM

Stories around are saying different gearing do to a higher tow rating on the Prowler and slightly lower top speed. Kymco rated at 48mph and Prowler at 45mph...I know...woopee! Biggest complaint I have ever heard and mine has it, is the notchy shifter. You have to learn to shift gears before it completely stops. According to the factory rep, they use a spring loaded shift fork so it is held in gear so that spring can be hard to release if there is any tension on it, such as stopped on an incline. My Kymco model is almost 3 yrs old, almost 1500 miles with O issues. It has been used as a work horse but well maintained. Has climbed any hill I have tried, been thru water over the wheels and have had to winch out of some serious mud on many ocassions. I use it to spot my enclosed trailer which weighs 1450lbs and it tows without issues. It will run with or beat any 500 class utv I have ever run against. I would highly recomend them. Now...they are not a sport machine so dont compare them to a rzr or a wildcat, strictly a utility machine! For what they are designed for, they do an excellent job and are well built. Compare welds and frame material thickness to other brands, they weigh over 1200 lbs and that doesnt come from cheap plastic or lite aluminum..they are tough little machines.
