A 50-horsepower, whisper-quiet, 812cc EFI engine offers all the grunt needed to be a reliable work partner or haul big game: https://atvconnection.com/articles/t...er-pro-models/ |
Nice looking.

I've talked to guys at the factory and they say the diesel they are testing is even quieter. So quiet that they sometimes try to start an engine that's already running.

I wouldn't be in a big hurry with Textron, they still have a lot of issues to correct before I would have confidence to make a purchase.

I'd buy one. They don't have any more issues than any of the other companies. These are really just Arctic Cat under a different name. If anything the management, engineering, and production are all held to a higher standard. |
I'd probably go with a Can-Am Defender HD8 over this. Both very similar in size and power but I'd rather have the Can-Am 800cc v-twin over this engine.

That's not the only engine you can get in an Arctic Cat / Textron. If you have a need for speed you could get the Wildcat with the 951cc Dual-Cylinder, Closed-Loop EFI Engine. AND.... I'm calling BS on the claim that the AC/T only has 50hp in the 812cc engine!!! I think they meant to say the 500. Their website says the 812cc is a QUOTE "80HP EFI Engine 59 lb-ft of Torque". https://textronoffroad.txtsv.com/sid...ility/stampede According to the Cam-Am website the HD8 only has QUOTE "HD8 V-Twin delivers 50 hp and 50 lb-ft torque" https://can-am.brp.com/off-road/side.../defender.html |
I mentioned the HD8 because its the model most similar to this. I saw Yamaha just released the 2019 Wolverine X2 2 seater and it now offers the 847cc twin. It now has a dump bed, previous Wolverine models didn't have that. As far as the 812cc having only 50 hp, I believe thats correct. The Stampede has a totally different engine, its an 846cc twin and yes it does have 80 hp. I'd like to see that engine in the Wildcat Sport, which still has the 700cc twin.

I have no issues with Artic Cat, they make great stuff! Look into Textrons background and you will find many issues...Textron bought A/C to use them to solve their issues. Remember Badboy Buggy that gave their customers NO warranty service??? That is Textron...those issues are still in court...
LOL!!!! Textron is a massive corporation that builds everything from Beachcraft jet aircraft to Bell helicopters!!! I don't think they need an atv/snowmobile factory to teach them anything!!!! And AC isn't being used to solve any past issues with other brands. |
