HELP!!! my quad won't run
 

I have a 2000 arctic cat 250 and it won't start, the batery was new this spring and i charged it and it wasn't that,its getting good spark and is getting fuel. i'm stumped

a little help would be much apreciated.

You know for sure that it's getting fuel and a spark? It should run then. Maybe not good, but that should really be enough to get it started. I have a VW beetle (1974) that I'm having the same trouble with, but I have no way to confirm if it's getting a spark.

Do you have compression? Does the engine turn over (but not fire) when you press start? Did you check the spark plug? Did a mouse make a home in the air filter?

it gets spark, gets fuel, turns over okay, and has compression, this is why i am so confused

maybe your getting too much fuel/flooding it, or not enough fuel/to lean. try using starting fluid and see if it fires like that, then you know its a fuel problem.

I had a mouse make a snack out my stator wires once. Bike would turn over, but no start.

ok this is the best way to see if everything is right in your engine or not,, take out the plug and shoot some ether in the piston and put the plug back in if it fires or turns over you know you have spark and compression

thanks a lot guys, got it runnin good, it was gettin fuel but not enough, so she was runnin a little lean
