495's from cat
Anyone tried the titan 495's that Cat offers as an add on? 26x10.5x12...
The 2005 500 will be here soon and I dont want another set of badlands, I play in the rocks alot and I dont think that the 589's will be for me but, i want something better in the mud that the badlands or 489's.
Thanks in advance.

495's suck man. they came stock on the 1999 AC500. 26x10.5-12's all the way around. There's a reason why they only used those tires for one year. Can't turn for crap with the wide fronts. I had them on my 99, and 27 Bi-Claws on the front were actually a blessing for turning. The traction of the 495's was better than other stock tires in mud, but not any better anywhere else. They wore about average. The price that Arctic Cat would quote you is ridiculous too. Those tires shouldn't cost a dime more than a 489 from anyplace, and I don't know of anyone that actually sells them
my vote is no on the 495's, you will find a lot better tires out there than that. They aren't a true 26 either. with a little wear and 5lbs. pressure, mine were about 24.5" tall. I wouldn't go for the 471's that have been in the AC catalog for the past 6 years either.
