650 low range ??

how does the low range on the 650 compare to like the grizzly 660?? Does it have any power, torgue or what. I am getting ready to buy one and want to make sure it is the workhorse i need. Thanks for all the help.

i don't have any experience with the other quads but i think the low range could stand to be lower for hard work.

i ride with a grizz all the time and he has lots of low end torque
i put in the dynatec cdi and he took it for a run and believes i am equal to his grizz now.

my buddy has a brand new grizz and he put a highlifter kit in it with a tuned exhaust and stuff and i put the dynatek cdi in my arctic cat he has to jump on the ass end to get the front end to come off the ground i sit on mine and crack it down and it goes over backwards there is no comparison between the grizz and the 650 cat in low range i love the grizz dont' get me wrong if cat didn't come out with this 650 i would have bought one but it is just the way it is we been in the mud to and both cracked it down and he has 26 inch mud lites and i got 27 inch tires and i still have alot more power even in high range

it's the other way with us, his stock grizz was always outperforming the cat, the only place i could out do him was where he would get hung up and i could further than him, a lot of times he could just back up and get out as where I could not back up the cat usually had to winch out., but now with the cdi we are pretty even for bottom end , but I have not been in the mud yet with the cdi, he has no problem doing wheelies, all he has to do is give it some gas and lean back and his front comes up pretty easy.

he either has more in that grizz then you think or something is wrong with your cat cause when my buddy and i both had stock machines we would both crack them down in low and high range and i would just run circles around him and he openly admits it as well and we are both pretty close in body weight within 15 pounds and that wouldn't make any difference on how much more horsepower i have then him i would have to see it to believe it cause i have seen myself do wheelies by the grizz once again no offence to the grizz it is a great machine

no offense taken, i don't own the grizz, just ride with him and I know the machine since he got it new and he only has 26 bear claws on it, and he has way more bottom end than i do, i can catch him once i get moving as i have more top end than he does, but off the line he is gone, but now with the cdi we are pretty equal, but like i said i have not been in the mud since i put the cdi in i love this cat, but the stock grizz still impresses me.

the grizz always have and always will impress me but something doesn't add up cause i am going against a grizz with 26 inch tires and when i had 27 inch and he had a high performance kit from highlifter including k & n airfilter tuned pipe and so on i still had way more then him on low end then i got my dynatek cdi and wow i just blew him out of the water cause he heard i ordered a highlifter module for mine and wanted to still keep up with me thats why he ordered that kit you didn't by any chance happen to burn your belt did you?? mine with the big tires and everything will still do about 62 mph and on really good goings do about 64

i have replaced one belt at 300 miles and my top end before the cdi was 55mph and it was struggling the last bit to get there and have not tried top end since the cdi
