My first ATV is being delivered this sat. It's an AC 500 TRV '05. I am so siked. CAN'T WAIT Hope to hear negs and pos on the machine. I'm hoping I did enough looking around to feel confident I did the right thing. What do you think?

I've never heard a negative thing other than wide turn radius. Heck, with all that ground clearance, who needs to turn around? Just go over it!

There isn't a better machine for steep hill climbing. That long wheelbase keeps the front end down. I'm really thinking about trading my 375 for one.

The part that takes some getting used to is having to ride on the back when my wife is at the wheel. For some reason my buddies just don't buy the line...I'm showing her how to drive it....anymore.

Truth is, that's one damn comfortable seat. If it were not for my wife taking some corners like Mario Andretti I could almost go to sleep back there.

You and your Mrs should really enjoy it.

I have two TRV's and wouldn't trade them for any other.
Some add a MRP rack system of their own design to the rear tubage.
I found that the HD springs for the 500i from highlifter are the best improvement that can be made
We use motorcycle cruiser windshields so that steering isnt limited from the front MRP box
I'm working on mounting a rear winch (warn works) to the rear tool holder that supports my rear box (see pics)

Have fun with your new quad!

Depends - if you weight 105 pounds and carry no gear - you wont notice the difference.
I have my springs set so that the wife and I and all our gear does not compress the shocks
unless there is a bump or reason too. And yes - everyone with a TRV thinks we have a lift kit
as we sit several inches higher when on the trail. As much as 5-6 inches.
The springs also improve the handleing - actually a huge improvement.
you will find the TRV likes to roll to the outside of turns and has a terrible secondary "rock" when
one side or the other dips into a whole or hits a high spot. The "rock" or roll-out makes for twice
the motion. The HD springs stop that. Try squaring off a corner without the springs and you will know what I'm
talking about.

Some people injoy the softer ride with standard springs. We ride a little more technicaly challenging then some I think.

So what are your first impressions of your new TRV?

well the only time I rode it was at the dealers and I found you have to lean into the high speed turn like a trike or a snowmobile. I really won't know till sat when it is delivered and I get some hours in on it. Are you saying when the left front hits a divet it will bounce me to the right without the HD springs. What about setting the factory spring to a higher setting?
