05's vs 04's 500autos

Looking at buying a new 05 500 auto test drove one and felt it was aright but not real quick of the hop, are 04's quicker of the start? The dealer also said I could get chips for the bike to give it better performance. Heard of chips for cars are thier ones for atv's as well?
Any other problems I should be aware of with a 500auto?

No chips on any Cat ATV's as yet. There are aftermarket CDI boxes for them however.

The 04 isn't going to be any faster then the 05. If you are looking for something more check out the 650.

The 500 Cat is one of the most reliable machines out there, can't go wrong with it at all. Like Bear said, you can get CDI's for them. Good luck!
