I want to pick up the performance of my 650. What would do and why?

Get a ignition module......they all do the same thing regardless of advertising.....they tell the speed sensor that the quad is going faster than it is so the timing advances. Kawi severely limity these engines by retarding the timing at low speeds to prevent rookies from doing wheelies. You can replace the whole ignition module as well.....this is the route I went as it gets rid of the reverse limiter and the limp mode.....plus it remaps the timing and adds more total timing at the top RPM's.

Next good mod is to open up the airbox. The stock air inlet restricts down in that little wannabe rubber snorkle. A 2" PVC elbo will fit right over the nub sticking out of the front of the airbox and will allow a lot more air in. You will have to jet up from 122's to 140's plus or minus depending on your elevation.

Get this stuff done and if yer still looking for more.....get back on here!

What brand options are there for an ignition module. Why one over another?

If you plan on going with a complete cdi box change I beleive there is only one brand dyna-tek works great and they cover it under warranty. The modules on the other hand are alot cheaper and I think there are at aleast 2 or 3 brands out there, but they do not offer as much in options or performance, the dyna box will not only help with the bottom end and mid-range it will help with top end power as well were the modules will only help at lower rpm's/speed. There are also cluthcing mods, performance cams to meat any and all needs, exhaust, snorkel kits, and coming very very soon k&n filters. If you would like check out our web-site @ www.speedwerx.com if you have any more ?'s please feel free to ask.

I have a Dyna CDI on mine.....works great so far. Velocity Devices makes a module that seems very popular and is in development of a very interesting looking CDI unit. VDI

Hey Speedwerx, what happened to the TEAM secondary for the AC's? There was a pic on your website a few months ago and I've been waiting with baited breath ever since for availability.....

I know we took it off we were getting too many calls and team has pushed it back again it sounds like it will be about another year from what I was told, the plus side to what I was told was that it wil fit alot of models when it is complete kawi's and a/c's. We will for surley let everyone know when it is complete or when testing begins.

Gee, thought more were into performance upgrades for their 650V2. Guess I was wrong.

$330.00 for a Dyna-tek module or 115.00 for a Highlifter, should would have liked to hear the difference between the two.

The modules just advance the inicial timing and involve splicing into the factory harness (just to remove the dead spot on take off). The Dyna-tek in a plug and play complets cdi. They adjust the timing from idle to wot, they remove the need for the reverse override, they remove the limp mode as well as raise the factory rev limit. Yes the cdi is alot more money but you get alot more for your money.

Thanks, is 330 the going price or does anyone know where I can get a Dyna-tek for a better price.

That sounds about right, I ordered mine direct from Dyna-tek.
