26" Mudlite's on a 400?

I went to Gander Mtn. this morning and they have 25" and 26" ITP Mudlites. The 26" lugs are MUCH deeper and longer than the 25" tires which surprised me. I'm interested in your feedback if the 400 will be able to turn the 26" tires without having to re-jet or upgrade the exhaust. I've read numerous posts suggesting to re-jet etc. if you increase the tires, but I don't want to void the warranty. I'm guessing since the increase in tire size is only 1", may not be a big deal or impact to performance. Also, if I went to the 26" tires, can I use the stock rims which are 25x10x12? I know nothing about the tire/rim size or what these number really mean. Appreciate your comments.

I put 26-10-12 on the front and 26-12-12 on the rear of my 06 400 auto and it couldn't get out of its on way. Right now I have 25-10-12 on the front and 25-12-12 on the rear and notice a considerable loss in low end power with these tires. And I have a clutch in mine for stock tires ( anything under 27 inches) If you want to start adding mods to your bike do what I did ; went and bought a 06 650 v2 I am extremely pleased. Wish I would have done this to begin with.

If you're just wanting the deeper lugs, go with 25" mudlite xl's. I have a set on my 400 auto and they are great.

I am on my second set of ITP mudlites. First set had an issue with some moron sticking a kife in the sidewall of each tire so they met an early demise.

I have been very pleased and they perform the way I want them to. I am not looking for speed, just tractionto tow heavy loads through mud and gunk. Sothey work well for me on both my 400 and 500TRV.

I will add though that the deeper lugs of the 26 inch tire make the tires into what I would call the "manure spreader" effect if you do not put fender extentions on. When you load the lugs with mud and speed up they clean themselves out really well and it litterally goes all over the place.
