I plan on getting some vampires but for right now I run the stockers. How long did your stockers last? So far what have you run? What sizes? Did you replace them because the wore out, had to many patches, or because they did not sute the terain you were riding in?

I replaced them with stockers, i want to get a bigfoot kit, and keep my old stock wheels/rims also, should be able to change them out pretty quick. I changed them cause they wore down. Down here in the country we ride everywhere..sometimes on the roadways..(just dont get caught), pavement will wear those suckers down!!! believe it or not i never had to plug one of my old tires...

I'll be pluggin in a day or two. I pulled a nail out of the rear last night. Went to the garage to get the Honda(which has the tire plugs in the storage compartment, and the dadgum plugging tool was missing. I guess I'll have to either dig around until I find it or go to Wal-Mart.

I just ordered 26x11-12 Biclaws on Douglas .190s for my 500, but I haven't had the chance to put them on yet because the bike is in the shop because of an antifreeze leak. (Not a good sign for a machine with less that 2 miles on it).

im running on stockers and so far there doing ok...im planing on buying some 26x10x12 (im going with narrow tires so i can fit it into the back of my dads pickup which in a few months will be mine.) so far i almost have 900 miles and theve only wore down alittle...ive found where in one of the lugs i ripped a huge gash in it, i have no idead how but it keeps its pressure. I want to buy some ITP Bulethole rims and keep some stockers or cheap tire on my stock rim and put my vampiors on sum itp rims so i can switch them around depneding on what im doin

Cat 500,

Those wheels you bought for your bike. Were the front ones narrower than the rear? The wheels I have seen listed for cats show a 12x7 for the front and a 12x8 for the rear. I have also been curious about the weight of the aluminum versus the stock steel.

I currently run 27x10x12 vampires on the front and 27x12x12 vampires on the rear, but they are mounted on 12x7 ITP modular wheels. It would be better for me to have a wider rear wheel. Thats the reason I asked.

The douglas rims I ordered were 12x7 fronts and 12x8 rear. When I put chrome steel on my '98 454 the sizes were the same. Apparently, those are the sizes you get when you get rims for an Arctic Cat unless you specify differently. The Douglas aluminum rims are 8lbs each and the steel are 12-1/2lbs each. This is why I went with aluminum. I hope this answers your question.
