Default 700 efi dies in pudle

i've had this happen a couple of times now and its really pissing me off. i go through a puddle, not even as deep as the floor board, not going fast, just crawling through and the machine dies or runs like crap for a while. im not sucking water in, no white smoke out the pipe or water in the box. but one time i sat in the middle of a pudle for about two minuts trying to get the thing started again. when it does restart it runs like a carb vehicle with no choke when its cold.

if i hit a puddle at 30mph thers no problem

i know my uncle had a similar problem with his sportsman that turned out to be wires rubbed through, anyone heard of this on the AC's. dealler of course found nothing wrong when i had it in for service.

thanks

Another guy had this problem and it turned out to be that his airbox had an opening in it allowing steam to enter the airbox causing the same problem..
Hope this helps...

Well i hope that steam is the problem. That would be an easy fix and it would confirm the issue and what has been learned can be used to help others.

I had the same problem on my 07 700. I think the spark plug got wet. I had to pull the cord to start it, and be really careful with the throttle till the moisture dried up. It ran fine after about 5 minutes. Hope it doesn't happen again.

Have you checked to see if your airbox is not sealed up good or someother place steam maybe getting into your intake? Check all vaccum lines to and from your fuel pump..

OH man have you found out what the problem was? I have the exact thing and my prowler is snorkeled. The dealer laughs and says its fine but he doesnt have a lake to test it in, but it stalls at the floor board and starts when I get it out? It pops and bogs if I hammer it trying to get through some deeper water and mud and then dies.....Please help me out and tell me what worked for you! FINNALLY SOMEONE HAS THE SAME PROBLEM AND I AM NOT CRAZY....
