Default Swamplites vs Zillas

Looking for oppinions from people that have either tire. I'm going to be upgrading my stock tires. I have a 08 700se, Going with 27" tires on 12" rims, the Swamps and Zillas are about the same price. Any input on 27" or 26" and Zilla vs Swamplites. I live in New England and do most my ridding here. Thanks

I have the swamplites. I started out with the 27s. When I got them all on the bike I could tell the fronts looked to be a little smaller then the rear tires even though they were all 27". I measured them from the ground up and all had the same air pressure in them and found the fronts were 3/4 of an inch smaller than the rears. Riding in 4wd can cause issues with a difference like that so I ordered two 28" tires for the rear just to see if they will work. When I put the 28s on,they were the exact same size as the rear 27s,so I just decided to go with 28s all the way a round as they only come in 28"tall, 10"wide, 12"rim. which I like alot better. The 28s have larger lugs, that was the only difference. They were the same size as the 27s.
On another note, they have been a great tire for all applications. I would think the Zillas would be a better mud tire if thats what your looking for. I have 1,700miles on my swamplites and i have at least 3/4ths of an inch tread left,if not a little more. The good thing with going with the same size is that you can switch them from the front to the rear and keep the tread wearing evenly for longer life. I switch them once a year.

I agree with mudslinginfool i have 27" swamplites on my trv 1000 and went with the same size tire all the way around. Not only is this good so you can rotate your tires, but no fender flares are needed to stop mud from flying 10ft in the air and on top of your head. My friend has Zillas on his ATV and i have not really seen to much of a difference between the two when it comes to making it through the deeper mud.If going deep is what you want. Swamplite or Zillas are the way to go. If a all around tire that is a better than average mudder and is the best handling tire on the market , try ITP Terracross tires.
