Somebody Help! Air lock in fuel line??

I have an 09 Cat 700 H1 EFI, ran out of gas today, filled it back up, and now it won't start. I think theres an air lock in the fuel line but i can't get it started now. Any ideas??

Let it sit overnight had a 650 that would do this and i let it sit overnight and it would start up fine.

Am wondering what an "air lock" is....

If it hasn't started yet, you may have an issue with the fuel pump. EFI will mean you have a pump as opposed to gravity feed, and the pump should not be having problems drawing fuel.

You might also try spraying some starting fluid onto the air filter...she should fire up right away, and if not then you have other issues

I agree with this, with the electric pump it should prime the system unless it has been burnt out by it attempting to prime system for too long. It should only take a few seconds to prime and it should push the air through the system with out any trouble. But if you out a little through the air intake should force it through.

This was a fairly common problem even with zar's and truck's when Thoddle Body EFI system's came out , if you ran completely out of gas the injectior's sometime's needed primed or replaced if they were sealed ; the electric fuel pump's that are common on the 2006 and up had the fuel tank's mounted under the seat between the frame and plastic's and rear rack ; air get's sucked into the fuel line causing about what you get when you get air in the brake line's !

We all know what need's to be done when the brake cylinder's need bleeding , the trick to bleed the air from the fuel pump to throddle body is to remove the the fuel line from the throddle body and with your plug wire off turn the engine over untill the pump blow's out the air from the fuel line ; then reattach fuel hose and plug wire and with a little priming to your air intake it should fix er up .
