Carburetors
Carburetors, I have read of several needle and seats failing on the Arctic Cat. This inherent to the Arctic Cat? I have 20 year old motorcycles that don't have as many issues as thise ATV by Kymco.
I am wondering if I could do better by putting a different model of carb from another single cylinder 250 not made for Kymco. It is a Klien I believe. I hate throwing good money after bad and these things are not impressing me. Really less than 150 miles, the seat leaks, carb over flows. |
i think i have two kilen or klien or whatever the hell it is called on my 650 and have had 0 problems after 2400 miles and 6 year. did you clean your carb good? could the float be sticking?

I doubt the big 2 carb manufacturers, Keihin or Mikuni make a carb especially for a certain company or machine model, AC makes a ATV then choses the size and carb (Already produced) they need.
I had great luck with both brands on Motorcycles, sleds and so on. You can bet the carb on your 250 ATV is on other machines of different types and brands. |

I plan on removing it and inspect it using a 3x magnifier. Compressed air and brake cleaner to clear any passages. I caught the choke cable in a tree branch and it pulled the wrapped casing apart. Since it is down due to the drive shaft in the transmission stripping pulling the carb won't make it down any longer. |
