Need help with 06&07 arctic cat 700's
 

I have a very stubborn situation i have a 06 700 arctic cat and a 07 700 arctic cat
when riding light on the throttle or down hills they are having problems when riding light on the throttle they are spitting and spuddering around and often die right out and need to be started again when riding wide open they are perfect when going down hills with light throttle they will act like completely dying out until you tap the throttle a bit then it comes back running again

also have had trouble with the engines stalling out after splashing through big puddles we figured out the spark plugs were getting wet and fouling out any way to avoid the water splashing in?


If any one could help me with these problems or have some insight on solutions please let me know thanks

Welcome to the forums Rider#1 , two thing's come to mind #1 water spark plug's getting wet when splashing through big puddles pull the plug wire's and spray W-D40 into the spark plug boot's to drive out moisture/water ; then use Die-Electric Grease into spark plug boot's this will keep water from shorting out the spark to the plug's .

I would also suggest using the Die-Electric Grease to the coil and start going over the wiring harness connectors , looking for corrosion inside of the connector plug's cleaning them if needed and use the Die-Electric Grease inside these connectors even if no corrsion ; you can find the Die-Electric Grease at any Auto Parts Stores get the can with the spray noszle this should do the trick on the electrical short's !

#2 there is an ajustment on the throddle cable that if not adjusted correctly can cause your cat's to act up , i've seen posts about the need to adjust this cable (been awhile since i've seen (these posts)i i don't have a shop manual so ; other members like swampyjunior should jump in wth the adjustment proceedjure for your cat's andi hope this help's !

Thank you williebee for your advice on the spark plug getting wet your suggestions should definetly help we recently did purchase a shop manual cause of the trouble we were having so i will give that throttle cable a look over thanks again

SUCCESS!! we have got our machines running like new again The TPS (throttle position sensor) was out of alignment on C not B where its supposed to be thanks to them test plugs we figured it out

mine did the same thing. Also had to adjust the TPS. its easy to check if it happens again,you just need a paperclip. glad you got it running right.

That's good to hear Rider#1 glad that you've got the quad's going again , and to mudslinginfool sorry i didn't mention your name with swampyjunior's in reference to other forum member's who would jump in on the TPS adjustment ; swampyjunior was just the first member that came to mind !

swampyjunior and mudslinginfool are but 2 forum member's who are a great resourse to the fourm , i couldn't list them all it would be to long of a list in one post ; once again Rider#1 it's good to hear you have the cat's going strong as new !

thanks swampy, im not worried about it. I replied too late anyways. lol. I'm only 30,but my information whether its correct or not comes from experience or something i've heard about. These forums are the best for info. Another site i look at from time to time is nyrocatv.com but there isn't much "New" talk over there,at least in the arctic cat forum.
