"96" 454 won't run hot
 

My "96" 454 will not run once it gets warmed up. Runs normal for 5 minutes or so and then acts like it's starving for gas. Let it set a couple minutes and it will fire sputter, cough, hack, and die. Let it sit for an hour and it'll run for a couple minutes. Thought maybe bad gas so I added some gas dryer. No luck. Tried running the sh#t out of it when it was cold to blow it out and no difference. Anyone experince similar problems? Thing is a blast when it runs but it sucks when it's a paper weight.

i would clean carb check and make sure gas is coming out of gas line out of valve. drain some gas out of tank through gas valve into glass jar and let sit for 5 or 12 min if gas look good. clean carb replace spark plug and make sure oil is not over full.if oil is over full you have a bad needle. need to replace needle and seat also. and change oil and filter. good luck
