for the past 3 months my hand brake lever would not rebound. this was a pain because my brakes would stay engaged until i manually moved the lever to its forward-most position. i started tinkering with the brake lever today and i loosened the nut slightly on the lever pivot...voila it works fine now--just like new. is that the fix or will that screw something else up?? note: i only loosened it about a quarter to a half turn so the nut still has plenty of bite on the torx head screw.

I don't see it causeing problems(what you did), but you will want to carry your tool kit with you on every ride for the next 100 miles just incase you lossened it too much. But I don't think this will cause a problem.

If you are worried that the nut may vibrate loose, just take the nut off and add a drop of locktight to the threads and snug it back up or if you wanted to you might put on a self locking nuts in its place

I had to do the same thing Texascat. It worked fine. Don't sweat it. I talked to waco4whlr, it's all good for the ride/camping.
