On most atvs its from the crank case vent that terminates into the air box. A lot of oil could be from accumulation over time or if running at an incline for extended periods, oil can work it's way up the vent tube and enter the air box and pool up. Usually the engine just takes the oily air from the crank case vent and recirculates it through the air intake system. Epa requirement now days.Plus that's what's the drain is for in the air box. To remove excess oil, water. Just check your air filter to see if it's oily, needs to be cleaned/replaced,plus check the vent leading into the air box and see if it has any type of filter that needs to be cleaned or replaced.
