Carb needs replaced.

New to this forum. I am in need of a new carb for an artic cat 2005 400 cc w/auto trany, cat green. Babbits calls for # 0470-470 @ over $400. Found two alternate possibilities on Amazon & Ebay (#0470-737 & #0470-533) for under $100. Question is, will either of these work on my atv?

Posting the links to these would have been helpful. A quick search for those numbers and they should work... But buyer beware when it comes to ebay as you should know..

Chinese carbs are a mixed lot. Many work fine. Some never work. The cheaper ones on eBay are Chinese copies for the aftermarket.

The OE carbs are pretty expensive typically so if I had to replace my carb for certain, I'd look at the chinese replacements but be prepared for disappointment. The Chinese can make anything. They lack consistent quality control.

What's wrong with the original carb that you can't clean and rebuild it?

Make sure if you buy a new carb to change the jets... I did the same and forgot about the pilot jet. It ran like hammered crap until I replaced it.

If old carb is rebuildable you are much better off doing that. Chinese copies are typically a qaste of time. Just look at all the problems people have with chinese machines, look at the complaints in the China section of this forum. A good rebuild on a quality carb is the best way to go!
