Just wanting to know if anybody was using the new highlifter lift kit and what they thought about it. I have a new 500 auto i was thinking of installing one on. Any replies appreciated, thanks.

I don't think I would put a high lifter kit on the "I" model myself. It is already pretty tall and with the addition of a lift kit it may over extend the angle for the CV joints. Thereby causing premature Joint failure. I believe that if you had one lifted and a joint went bad it wouldn't be covered under warranty also. This all just an opinion and it's worth what you paid for it, but you asked the question.

Minehunter thanks for the reply. I worded my reply wrong, I have a 2002 500 auto with the act suspension, not the independent. Does it put the cv joints at such an angle it wears the joint out. I guess spending 80.00 on a lift kit could cost you more in the long run. Thanks Guy.

I have the lift kit on my rubicon and i am very pleased with its mudding performance, even with stock tires. It lets me go through mud i used to get stuck in. It does have advantages and disadvantages, though:

Advantages:
1 more ground clearance
2 better mud performance in most cases
3 you can install larger tires without rubbing

Disadvantages:
1 puts more strain on the drivetrain
2 makes the machine less stable on hills

Hope you make the right descion!
