I recently put a log through my oil cooler. Arctic cat will not sell me the cooler alone, it comes as a assembly ($519.00cdn) that includes the fan, shroud, gaurd, every nut and bolt ect. I don't need all this other stuff. They sell every other part on the assembly seperatly why not the cooler itself? Doe's anyone know of a oil cooler off another brand or possibly a automotive cooler that would fit? jThis is a brand new cat (my first one) I hope they don't sell every part as a assembly, who could afford to own one.

It is probably one of those items which Arctic Cat doesn't make but buys them as an assembly from the manufacture. You can try and find out who supplies Arctic Cat with them and see if you can buy direct. If not then you can try some aftermarket companies to see if one of their oil coolers will match up. James Lucky, Four Stroke Tech, Powroll, Thumper Racing, White Bros, etc. Just look in the mags for companies that specialize in four strokes. You also might get lucky by checking some of the salvage yards. There are bound to be some 02 (375's) that are sitting waiting to be parted out. good luck.

Wow $519!!! I heard the Kawi 650 radiator was about $500 too never really thought how much Cat's would be. If you don't mind me asking how did you put a log through the cooler? It seems to be pretty well protected unlike a Polaris's (not a bash). I checked www.brownsleisureworld.com with no luck. Ttaylor had a good idea to look around for a wrecked 375. Just a thought… Would an oil cooler from a 250/300 the price listed is $253.19, maybe with a few mods you figure out a way to mount the fan.

You might also look into A small transmission cooler. I don't know how hard it would be to fit, but I use one on my kawi 300 bayou 4x4 as an oil cooler. Might be worth a look.

I took my oil cooler in to a welding shop and had it tig welded, then to a rad shop for a pressure test, it turns out the only place it was leaking was the bottom mounts. The cooling fins look like hell and the cooler as a whole is twisted pretty good but I think it will hold oil. It is all back together now and I took it for a short test ride, seems ok. Makes me kind of nervous but I will just have to keep a close eye on it. Should the oil presure light come on when you turn the key? My temp. light comes on but not the pressure light. This is how it happened. I was stuck in some fairly deep mud and was winching my self out when I noticed my front tire was not turning, when I got off to look it was to late the damage was done there was a 6 inch round log jammed between the tire and the oil cooler, not quite sure how it got in there but it did..

Some parts apparently only come as assemblies. The mechanical rear brake is another one. Mine broke (the core piece that everything bolts on to) and I can only replace it with the entire assembly. This only costs $90, but it's for something I never use (the useless foot brake). So far, I've managed fine with the hydrolic system.

The foot brake is useless [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img]... The couple times I've tried using it I thought the Fred Flintstone method would yield better results.

Glad to hear you've got the oil cooler all back together. The log had to be wedged in there pretty good, guess it all part of wheeling but that doesn't help when it costs big bucks to fix. Good luck and keep us (or least me posted).

One other thought: If you have full coverage insurance, maybe the insurance will replace the oil cooler.

Maybe you could try a a Suzuki dealer. Seeing how the engines are the same in some models.
