CKzy-How's the steering effort
CK and ODB--How's the steering effort when locked and welded up? I ride most of the time in 2wd and just switch to 4wd at each hole. I wear that selector out, but I don't like the steering effort in 4wd between holes.

On soft pack and on trails it seemed to steer fine. I mean you can tell its locked, but no dramatic effort!

Cat500i- Locked front end
PROS- ------ If you do get stuck, you can almost always back out of it. ------ You will find you can go easier on the gas through a lot of holes because you know as long as that 1 front tire is on the ground it will still pull you out. ------Fun watching all other non IRS (locked or unlocked) bikes get stuck in stuff you just went through. ----- Your old lady and neighborhood kids will not want to ride it anymore. CONS- ------ Harder to steer while stopped and turning in reverse. ------You are not going to ride with a cold beer in one hand and steer with the other one. It don't work trust me. ------It will have you searching for worse mud because you can go through all of the old bad holes with ease. ----- It will rip a good lawn to SHREDS. You should see my backyard. When you get used to the way it handles there is no way you would ever go back to 3 wheel drive. ------ |
