Default Which ATV is right for me?

I live in Alaska and I was wondering what ATV would be the best so that I could go hunting and on rough terrains, but also able to go fast and have fun on some of the beaches. Please help I'm stumped!

Welcome to the forums. What kind of terrain? Rocks, mud, water, sand, hills, flat, etc. A good start is a 500 class machine with 4wd. Plenty of power for almost every situation, decent fuel mileage, plenty of towing, etc. Polaris are great all around quads with excellent on board storage, and most comfortable ride. CanAms tend to be most powerful per cc in a good all around package. Yamaha makes a great machine as well as Suzuki. Suzuki tends to have good pricing. I don't know much about Arctic Cats. Hondas are super reliable but don't have a full locker in front. If you don't anticipate serious mud, I wouldn't worry about it.

I agree with Moose on a 500 class 4x4. All the major brands are good but I like Polaris the best. Whatever you do don't buy a Chinese POS.

X2 on the Chinese quad. Avoid at all costs unless you really like wrenching.

Make sure you get the 3 major options. Like IRS for clearance and comfort, Low Range for the nasty jobs and sections on the trail, a AWD system of some type for added traction and a 500cc or up motor is fine for the fast sections.

Most all 500+cc ATVs have those 3 options now.
