Does anybody know............?

I was wondering what parts between the trx 250r, and the atc 250r are interchangeable. I have seen many 250r power kits, labeled trx, could i put them on an atc? I really want to know about engine parts, but if you could give a complete list of interchangalbe parts, i would be very thankful. I have a atc 250r 1985, if you would use that as your atc for comparison it would be great. thank you

All of teh engine parts from the 85-86 atc250r will swap with the trx250r. Same motor different frame. The stator will swap bit the rest of the wiring is different on the 85.

Buy a manual i have a Clymer and think it's great(i got it online for like 30$ and it took 2-3 days shipping). They will break down 85-86 ATC 250R's and 86-8X 250R quads. The 86 seems to share more than the 85 but all MAJOR modifications are interchangable. When were talking about big bores youll need to specify its a short rod 85 ATC 250r which shares the short rod 86 TRX engine aftermarket. personally i favor the short rod engine for the rod to stroke ratio being perfect for minimal side-wall loading which in short equals better reliability.

Power kits usually come with pipes and pipes on the TRX and a ATC are totally different and that is the only difference i see.
