I was wondering if someone could tell me about them. How much did they change each year? Are they good machines? Also, which one would be a better trail machine the 200x 0r the 350x? I've found a 85 200x in the paper for 650$ Is that about average for that model and was that a good year? Sorry bout all the questions but i don't know anything about the trikes.

THE 200X IS A GREAT TRAIL RIDING BIKE ESPECIALLY FOR TIGHTER TRAILS. '83 TO '85 200X WAS PRETTY MUCH THE SAME BIKE. '86-'87 WERE TOTALLY DIFFERENT. NEW ,USED AND AFTERMARKET PARTS ARE STILL VERY MUCH AVAILABLE FOR THE '83-'85 TRIKES. $650 DOLLARS IS A VERY GOOD PRICE FOR AN '85 I SEE THEM HERE IN NJ FOR A QUITE A BIT MORE.

If you can find a 350X and consider yourself "ready" it is the bike to have. I had an '84 200X before my 350X.
The 350X has Much, Much more power, and better suspension than the 200X, and is probably the best woods machine I have ever owned, much better than even my 400EX. The 350X has a better "feel" than my 250R, although it is not nearly as fast or well suspended. I sold my 200X years ago for $575 in good condition, with a 4" extended axle, polished aluminum wheels, a new set of Gateway Wooly-Boogers, and a relatively fresh engine. I got my '84 200X probably around '86 for $800, it was in good condition with lots of miles. I was the 3rd owner. I absolutely stole my '86 350X for $500 in probably around '89 (which is when I sold my 200X). It was in showroom perfect condition except for the bent axle (Which I would have replaced with an extended unit anyway). I stole my '86 250R in '94 for $700, in great condition except for a small cracked area in the rear fender and bad front bearings. The bottom line is, if you are a good rider and ready for the power, get a 350X, you will not be sorry. If you are still learning, new to riding 3 wheelers, not ready for lots of HP, get the 200X, they are both bulletproof, excellent bikes. ------------------ Gabe '86ATC250R '86ATC350X '00TRX400EX |
Trint, 86ATC250R's last paragraph pretty much sums it up. I had (2) 85 ATC200X's and yes they were as Honda 4 Strokes go Bulletproof. I sold a near mint, all stock one last year for $900.00 and a slightly banged up one for $750.00. I would recommend getting the 350X as you'll want the extra power shortly. 4 stroke power is real mellow, slow building power and so it's pretty easy to keep a handle on it. Take it easy, get used to it, and add more and more thumb (power) gradually and you shouldn't have a problem.
