HI, CAN ANYONE HELP ME? MY COUSIN HAS A 1985 HONDA ATC 200X. ITS IN GREAT SHAPE EXCEPT THE KICK STARTER IS A PAIN IN THE @$$. (ESPECIALLY IF ITS COLD AND TAKES SOME GOOD KICKS TO GET GOING) I HEARD SOMEWHERE THAT THERE IS AN ELECTRIC STARTER KIT AVAILABLE FOR IT. IS THIS TRUE? IF SO COULD SOMEONE POINT ME IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION? THANKS FOR THE HELP!!!

Yes there is a kit. It runs over $200. I do not think they make them anymore. I have seen a couple on E-bay, but not very often. I will see if I can find a link for you. Why is the kick start a pain? Maybe your timing is a touch off? Are you getting a ton of kick-backs? I have the 10 1/2 to 1 piston in mine and it starts pretty good.

I think the cheaper solution might be a little carb work.

Check for air leaks bad gaskets, o-rings etc.
Then adjust the Idle speed and mixture per the book.

A well adjusted X should be easy to start.
