85 R swingarm
Kasey, 10 paddle extremes is WAYYYY over paddled for mine and most any trike out there. I dont have the big bore 500 like you, so over paddling would be the opposite of a traction problem.....which is power. Any 250 bore trike/quad with a 10 paddle is OVER PADDLED! perhaps your right regarding the traction on a 10 paddle extreme, but the amount of power to turn them would be a great loss. I run a 7 paddle on a 22" tire. Reg Haulers. I could use an 8 paddle extreme but nothing more.

85 R swingarm
I have never ridden in sand yet with my 250r, But I have rode it down the street with turf tamers and it hooks hard on the street I have rode down a dirt road and it spin like crazy til I get up in the higher gears. Last season I had the +6 swingarm with stock jug 38mm A/S, vforce, billet head, and at the dirt drags It would stand straight up with 2nd gear holeshot I had to fight with it to come out of the hole, Now in 3rd gear it would come up but it wouldnt come out of the hole as hard as 2nd, So I am just guessing that this year with the 310 drag port theres no way im goin to be able to come out of the hole like last year, but then again maybe im wrong I just use my R for dirt drags and this year I am goin to some sand drags with it. So maybe +12 is too much. I talked to Dave Moore in OR & he said he had a 310R with a +12 and he could be rolling along in 4th gr and rip in to it and it would still stand right up and thats in sand. Well I guess I will see when I get it on and go from there my plans are in the future to stroke it out so I figured if its too much now then later it would probably be fine, I just didnt want to have to buy another one later down the road.
Another thing my R only weighs 264lbs stock they are 290 I have lightened it up considerably: drilled out frame, drag axle, elimnated unnecesary elec. no front brakes, & I am tryn to find a way to put a 10in rim & tire on the front If anyone knows how or has done this I would appreciate some info. I have called all over no one sells a 10in rim for the stock bolt pattern. which I believe is 6x180mm I could be wrong on that.
When I get it back together I will put an updated pic up it doesnt look nothing like the pic thats up now I forgot about that pic. LOL
Thanks
