We'll I'm not sure of the exact year but it's still running. It's probably an 83-84 125 three wheeler. No shocks up front, pull start with auto compression release and no reverse.

The problem is the carb has it running rich. A plug change is required every few hours. I cleaned the carb (acid) and it didn't help much. It has a Kelin (sp?) carb on it. It has 2 adjusters, air idle on the side, and what looks to be a main jet adjuster on the bottom. I adjusted this one back a forth a couple time without much change. You can see some blakc smoke at idle and when you rev it.

Can anyone shed some more light an how to lean out this carb. I'm at sea level so I don't think re-jetting is required. Could be just an old carb that needs to be replaced.

Thanks for the help,
Rob

I dealt with a very similar problem a few years ago with my neighbors ATC125M. I don't remember exactly the details, and I didn't write anything down... Anyway, it seems to me the CHOKE SPRING had broken and was allowing the choke butterfly to be partially closed. Remove your air cleaner and run the engine, look in the carb throat and see if the choke is staying open. Also, make sure your air cleaner is clean, and unrestricted.

Hope this helps,

Phil
