2017 South West Montana Riding
 

Got a late start this year in hitting the trails we have a family business that takes up the last two weeks of June and first week in July, not a huge deal since our trails don't open up til June 16th anyway but even after they opened up it was busy any way so have only been out 3 times but have been able to share one of our favorite trails with some friends and hit two new trails(to us) that left us wanting to stay out longer and explore more so looks like we'll be able to do that again this coming weekend. But here's some pics of the first ride for now, we feel so blessed to live in the area we do, was an awesome ride. FF

Great scenery, looks a lot like Colorado.

Been all over Colorado but never done any riding there, but I can see where it would look similar. Got a lot of area to cover here before branching out of state. Hopefully at some point we'll upgrade to a newer machine with PS and IRS.

Just outside of Bozeman, A trail head called Little Bear. You can start there go up over the top and drop down into a drainage called Squaw cre.....oops....uh not politically correct. They had to change the name to Stormcastle. Anyway you go over the top and drop down into "Stormcastle" then pick up another trail head and go back up over the top and hit a series of trails that will take you back towards Bozeman and out onto a point that overlooks the valley and eventually back down to the trail head. I think it's a 45-50 mile ride but well worth it. Was a bit of a disappointing year as far as riding goes, our trails are only open from June 16- October 16 and with the busyness of life, work, dryness, and fire danger and all the smoke, we've only gotten out 3 times so far. Hoping to get out at least once more before they close everything down.Where's home for you?

Home is Wisconsin. Just bought my first ATV. Our son lives in Missoula so we will eventually head out there for a vacation / visit. Planning to take the ATV and do a some riding. It really looks fantastic.

It is fantastic, There are a lot of trails around here that we haven't even touched yet and some that have become favorites that we share with friends. We made it a point to try to hit at least two new trails this year, wanted to do more but time has a way of running out on you. Well if you make it out this direction and it's NOT 2 weeks before or after the fourth of July, maybe we could link up on your way through. Just a thought. That's a good idea trying to make it to some new trails. When I got my first quad I used to ride all over the place. Now I ride with my friends on the same few trails all the time. We could drive an hour in any direction from their property and hit other trails, but they don't trailer anymore. We just go to trails we can hit by riding down the roads.
