After reading my post again there is something I want to say. I mentioned several times looking for alternative lines or something other than the inside of the corner. I should say that many times the inside of the corner IS the best line. Especially when someone is on your tail and looking to pass! I just wanted to suggest that we would all be better racers if we think about the fastest lines instead of following everyone elses lines. Ride smart, fast, and remember to never follow!

banshee97 - I am not sure what you mean by "what do I race". I assume you saw the description of my quad in my signature. If you meant which class I race quad 4-stroke and senior on the local level and Open B and Senior (30+) at the nationals.

Finally a post worth responding to! Just wanted to add my 2 cents worth, when I walk the track before the race I also choose my braking points, cause as you know the longer the race the more tired you get and the more tired you get the lazier you get, I noticed as the race wore on I would brake earlier as I tired, so now I will choose hay bales or markers on every corner and will not start my braking till I reach those specific markers.
As for line selection, if Im not defending my line from another rider I will always use another line than the rider in front of me, even if its slower, you cant pass someone when you choose the same line, and you never know when that rider in front of you is gonna screw up, and I would rather not be behind him when he does, I recently read a back issue of Dirtwheels and read the interview of Barry Hawk he said pretty much the same thing that he chooses different lines no matter what when trying to pass another rider. Well thats enough rambling from me, for now anyways! Awesome post Blodg500RX
